
This day is celebrated as the significant beginning of the Nauryz Meyrami. It is a very warm and unique holiday passed down from the ancestors. On this day, people traditionally visit one another and extend congratulations that spring has arrived again. In ancient times, Kazakhs who led a nomadic lifestyle and were mainly engaged in livestock breeding would count their livestock, rejoice at the end of the winter cold, and greet one another on the safe arrival of spring.
The Republican State Enterprise “State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve ‘Botai’” of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with a mutual agreement with the Republican State Enterprise State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Sarayshyk,” presented a traveling exhibition titled “Ботай мұрасы – ұрпаққа аманат” from February 24 to March 9, 2023 at the local history museum of the Makhambet District in the Atyrau Region. The exhibition was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Botai and Sarayshyk museum-reserves and aimed at popularizing the unique Eneolithic archaeological site.
On March 3, 2023, 7th-grade students of Voskresenovskaya Secondary School of the Aiyrtau District, North Kazakhstan Region, visited the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai”.
In honor of the 5th anniversary of its establishment, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” announces a republican essay competition on the topic: “The Botai Settlement – Ancient Abode of Civilization.”
