On October 23, 2025, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Esik” hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference VI Esik Readings on the topic: “International Research in Archaeology: Experience, Results, and Priority Directions.”

The event was organized in cooperation with the Archaeological Institute of Shaanxi Province (Xi’an, People’s Republic of China) and was dedicated to three significant anniversaries: the 55th anniversary of the discovery of the Golden Man, the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Esik Museum-Reserve, and the 90th anniversary of the archaeologist and scholar Bekmukhanbet Nurmukhanbetov.

During the conference, there was a presentation of the monograph Rahat Archaeological Complex and a guidebook to the Esik Museum-Reserve, published in Chinese.

Representatives of the Botai Museum-Reserve participated in the event, including Director Sabina Karimovna Amirova, Collections Keeper Marzhan S. Almaganbetova, and Chief Inspector for Monument Protection V.A. Iskrizhitsky.

Junior Researcher D. V. Toktarov from the Botai Museum-Reserve delivered a report titled “Some Results of International Expeditions at Botai Culture Sites”, highlighting the outcomes of joint archaeological research and emphasizing the significance of Botai culture in the study of ancient Kazakhstan’s history.
