On February 27, 2025, research associates of the Republican State Enterprise “Botai State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve” under the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Marat S. Makeev and Madeniet M. Kuttybay — organized an educational historical events for students of Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University on the topic “Methods of Archaeological Research.”

The event program included a guided exhibition based on materials and artifacts of the Botai culture.

During the event, students were introduced to the unique results of nearly forty years of research at the Botai settlement, which have demonstrated that, in the Late Stone Age, on the territory of modern Kazakhstan within the Ural–Irtysh interfluve, the ancient bearers of the Botai culture were the first in the world to domesticate the horse.
