Botai Photo Chronicle

The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Botai" presents the Botai Photo Chronicle series on its social media platforms, featuring unique historical photographs dedicated to the heritage of the Botai culture.

The photographs have been selected from the archives of the North Kazakhstan Archaeological Expedition and the personal archive of the distinguished scholar Viktor Fedorovich Zaibert, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Archaeology, and Corresponding Member of the German Archaeological Institute.

This photograph depicts the first archaeological excavations at the Botai settlement, as well as rescue excavations carried out along the bank of the Imanburluk River between 1980 and 1983.

The historical image has been digitally enhanced and restored using modern artificial intelligence technologies.
