The International Winter School “Auezov University – 2026”, organized by the Department of World History and Museum Studies, has begun its work at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

The opening of the winter school was dedicated to a highly relevant UNESCO theme — “Preservation, Protection and Management of World Historical and Cultural Heritage.” The event served as a unique platform for students, researchers, and specialists, enabling the exchange of experience, discussion of key issues, and the expansion of knowledge in the field of cultural heritage protection.

On behalf of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai”, research staff members Marat Makeev and Damir Toktarov participated in the winter school as speakers, presenting a report entitled:

“Work on the Preservation, Protection, and Museumification of the Botai Settlement in the North Kazakhstan Region.”

During the presentation, the global significance of the Botai site was highlighted, along with modern approaches to its preservation and protection, as well as the main directions of museum activities.
