On July 17, 2023, the Botai Museum-Reserve held an event dedicated to the Kazakh national drink kumys, titled “Ботай-қымыз ата-бабасы”.

The purpose of this event was the revival of our ancient traditions, the promotion of national customs, and the encouragement of a healthy lifestyle. This ancient drink was brought from all rural districts, and each sample had a different taste and recipe. During the event, participants were introduced to the methods and techniques of preparing national beverages, as well as the details of making kumys, milk, kefir, and shalap, along with their beneficial properties for the human body.
