БҮГІНГІ БОТАЙ #2

In the Botai Museum-Reserve, over the past five years, visitors have been offered master classes in archery, spear throwing, horseback riding, making stone discs, and producing ceramic vessels using ancient technologies.

Ceramics is considered one of the oldest crafts in the world. It originated in the Neolithic period, as confirmed by numerous finds discovered during archaeological excavations: hand-molded clay figurines, simple pottery, and vessels used for storing water and grain.

The museum staff chose to conduct such a master class deliberately. The museum preserves fragments of ancient ceramic vessels discovered during archaeological excavations at the Botai Settlement.

During the ceramic-making master classes, students and visitors are able to create handmade items themselves, learn the principles of pottery-making, and become familiar with the specifics of the craft.
