Beginning with the Renaissance era, humanity placed increasing importance on a more refined and aesthetic expression of artistic thought, as well as the encoding of symbols in painting, architecture, and theatre. Through signs and encoded ideas, the style and intent of artists became easily recognizable, and their works continue to inspire admiration to this day. With the development of global civilization, including cinema, music videos, animation, and computer technologies, the role of symbols and visual images has only grown stronger. In the modern development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there are many positive historical and cultural images in which the national cultural code is embedded. In our view, these images must be preserved and promoted.

Therefore, the staff of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” developed the idea of promoting symbols representing the history of our country and its rich creative and cultural heritage. For the Botai Museum-Reserve, these symbols include the racing horse, the ancient dwelling, and the historical settlement of the Botai culture. In addition, the online challenge – the republican panorama (gallery) of historical images – was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Botai Museum-Reserve.

An idea was launched on the official social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) of museum-reserves, inspections of historical and cultural heritage, and cultural organizations such as theaters, philharmonic societies, and concert institutions. The initiative encouraged participants to present clips, videos, or animations artistically expressing or embodying symbolic historical figures and images. This challenge serves as a positive cultural and historical “message,” conveying multilayered cultural and historical meanings through short narratives and visual content for the younger generation and youth.
