
On April 20, 2023, at 15:00, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” organized an online round table in Zoom format titled “V. F. Zaibert – Research, Science, Public Activity,” dedicated to the memory of the scholar, researcher of Botai culture, Professor of Archaeology Viktor Fyodorovich Zaibert.
Throughout his life, Viktor Fyodorovich Zaibert devoted himself to studying the history of the Great Steppe through archaeological science. Along this path, he achieved honor and recognition through major discoveries in the archaeology of Kazakhstan. He made significant contributions to the study of the northern regions of Kazakhstan, and through his research on the Atbasar culture and the Botai culture, he gained international recognition in the field of archaeology.
During the round table, participants shared memories of Viktor Fyodorovich and spoke about his role and significance in the science of Kazakhstan as a scholar, professor, educator, and public figure. New projects dedicated to his memory were outlined, along with his unfinished ideas and initiatives. Colleagues from the scientific community also expressed their proposals and intentions to coordinate joint efforts in individual projects, cultural and historical initiatives, and other forms of activity aimed at preserving his legacy in the future.
