The A. H. Margulan Institute of Archaeology of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the international scientific and practical conference “Margulan Readings – 2023” in Almaty on March 30–31, 2023.

The format of the conference included the presentation and discussion of reports, as well as the introduction of scientific materials to the academic community based on the results of archaeological field research conducted in 2022 and in previous years. In addition, particular interest was shown in presentations addressing the use of new methods in the study of archaeological sites, interdisciplinary research, their protection, and their application in various fields of science and cultural life.

The event was attended by the Director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai”, Shakshakov Kuanysh Gibadatovich; Senior Researcher Abilmaliikov Kuanysh Kabdolovich; and Junior Researcher Makeev Marat Sailaouovich, who presented a report titled “Archaeological Reconstruction Studies at the Botai Settlement in 2022: The Role of the Botai Museum-Reserve in the Preservation, Use, and Promotion of the Country’s Historical and Cultural Heritage.”

During the event, a dialogue was held between speakers and the audience, providing an opportunity for experience sharing.
