
Today, on October 21, 2022, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” held a Republican scientific-practical conference in the format of a foresight session dedicated to Republic Day, in an online mode via the ZOOM platform.
The purpose of the conference was to define the role and priorities of domestic historical science during the years of the formation of the Republic, the reformatting of approaches and methods in historical science, and the departure from the class-based scientific concept and Eurocentrism.
Republic Day is the main national holiday of Kazakhstan. The foresight session analyzed the formation of historical science in the years when the country was proclaimed a sovereign republic, as well as the development vector of historical science, which includes deepening past methodologies, discussing current topics, analyzing the situation, forecasting, and further definition.
The event was attended by research staff from republican and regional museums, master’s and doctoral students of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, and public figures. The conference featured reports on excavations in Saraishyk, the Issyk burial site, and the national liberation uprising led by Kenesary Kasymuly.
