On October 18, 2022, the staff of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” organized a thematic excursion in the format of National tourism dedicated to Republic Day on the topic “From the ancient settlement of Botai to industrial Astana – the origins of modernity” for 7th-grade students of School-Gymnasium No. 2 in Saumalkol village. The purpose of this event was to familiarize schoolchildren with the life attitudes of their ancestors and to tell them more about traditions and way of life.

The thematic excursion was conducted by the Head of the Excursion Service Department of the Botai Museum-Reserve, Zhadira Omyshevna Mukusheva, who showed the students a short video about Botai culture and led the children to compare Botai culture with present-day Astana.

During this event, the children were introduced to the achievements of our country, its place and role in the international arena through photographic materials. Materials about the culture of the Botai people, who lived in the Early Eneolithic period, and about the development of Kazakhstan, aroused great interest among the students.

The students listened with great interest and asked many questions about Botai culture of the Early Eneolithic period and about the unique artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations.
