Today, the Aktobe Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted the grand opening of the traveling exhibition “Botai: Culture of the Great Steppe”, dedicated to Gratitude Day.

At the opening, welcoming remarks were delivered by representatives of the regional Department of Culture, as well as the Director of the West Kazakhstan Branch of the A. Margulan Institute of Archaeology, who emphasized the significance of the Botai culture in the history of the Great Steppe.

The exhibition features unique Eneolithic artifacts discovered at the Botai settlement, including a skull with evidence of trepanation, a reconstruction of Botai women’s clothing, ceramic fragments and a restored vessel, stone discs, axes, and other valuable finds.

The main purpose of the exhibition is to promote the Botai culture, preserve and advance historical and cultural heritage, and strengthen public interest in the ancient history of Kazakhstan. The exhibition provides a deeper understanding of Botai’s contribution to the development of world civilization and reveals the richness of the spiritual and material culture of ancient steppe societies.
